Coffee Hour

The Coffee Hour is very important to the life of the church. Parents whose children are in Godly Play enjoy refreshments while they wait, and parishioners have an opportunity to mingle with their fellows and get to know them better.

Dicken’s Festival

Every year, the Village of Port Jefferson is magically transported back to the Dickensian era, with streets filled with roaming characters such as Father Christmas, Scrooge, the Town Crier, and the beloved chimney sweeps. Everyone, from the very young to the young at heart, can join in the fun. Christ Church has participated in the Dickens Festival for decades. Beginning in September, in the kitchen of the Parish Hall, we make delicious chocolates of every description to sell at the festival; crowds are invited in not just for chocolates but for soup and a sandwich and an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets; raffles are on display that day in the Parish Hall. The Dickens Festival provides an opportunity for parishioners to work together to serve the wider community.
