Lay Readers, Servers and Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lectors function as readers of Holy Scriptures during worship at both services on Sunday, and at special services. They are members of the parish who take part in worship regularly. Lectors are scheduled by Joan E., and can be given training as needed.
A Lay Eucharistic Minister or Chalice Bearer assists in the distribution of Holy Communion and serves in two different ways. One is to assist during services on Sundays and Holy Days. A second is to carry the Holy Communion to those who are unable to attend church.
Acolytes or Servers assist on the altar during service. They carry the cross and assist with the offering of the gifts of bread and wine.
Lay Readers, Servers, Chalice Bearers and Acolytes please remember:
-
If you cannot serve as scheduled, it is your responsibility to find a substitute
