In May 1879, a lot 50 X 112 feet was purchased from Mr. P.T. Barnum for $150. The value of the lot was $400, the concession in price being a gift to the church from Mr. Barnum.

Appeals for contributions to the building fund were sent our January 25, 1888 and by May 1888 $1800 had been received.

The church was opened for services on Trinity Sunday, June 3, 1888.

This undated photo (probably around 1900) shows the interior of the church with a choir loft, pipe organ and stained glass window.

By 1998 the exterior of the church had received a facelift. 

And by 1990, the Fellowship Hall had been added to the original building. This extension doubled the size of Christ Church and made the church handicapped accessible.
